Currently, as CEO of Metrodora Institute, Rohit leverages his expertise in precision medicine and biobanking to transform patient care and advance medical research for chronic complex illnesses. Known as one of the world’s foremost biobanking experts, he brings over 20 years of experience in the life sciences that have enhanced precision medicine and improved healthcare access. From leading clinical research enterprises to his business acumen in medical commercialization, his vision, strategies, and execution have led to models that decentralize biospecimen and data management solutions, accelerating research and diagnostic development.

An active key opinion leader in the global scientific community, he has twice served as the Chairman of the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) annual conference, is the Section Editor for “Emerging Markets and Technology” of the peer-reviewed journal “Biobanking and Biopreservation,” and advises numerous companies. He has also won multiple awards for his leadership.

At Stanford and UCSF, Rohit was the principal architect behind each institution’s biobanking efforts, empowering researchers with novel tools, including a data platform to manage both clinical and biological ‘multi-omic’ information, crucial for advancing precision medicine. While at TMRW Life Sciences, he provided scientific leadership for managing and caring for IVF-related eggs and embryos. He also served as the Chief Medical Officer and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for Spectrum Solutions, where he drove the company’s vision to enhance healthcare and clinical research through innovative medical devices and laboratory diagnostics, including the development of the first saliva-based COVID-19 testing solution.
